1957 Reissue "JV" Stratocaster in Black

This ST57-70 Stratocaster reissue with a neck date of February 1983 is one of the fabled "JV" serial number guitars which in the first two years of Fender Japan's existence served notice to Fender USA that the reissue quality bar had been raised to a dauntingly high level. These were the guitars about which Dan Smith of Fender USA made his oft-quoted comment that the work of their Japanese counterparts made the US Fender guys want to cry.

Bearing a close resemblance to Eric Clapton's famed "Blackie", this Strat has an alder body, stock US Fender pickups, and the three-way switch that the "JV" Strats employed in the interest of maximum authenticity.

Although it's missing its rear tremelo cover and has an area of finish loss on its body's edge, it's in excellent mechanical condition. It weighs 8 lbs 2 oz (3.7 kg) and it comes with a gig bag.
